Outlawz Tuesday colour challenge

Good morning to all my friends,
Yikes... it is already Tuesday..the last before Christmas and another Colour challenge over at The Outlawz.
These are the colours we were given to work with this week, and they have such lovely names.  The added extra was to use pearls.

I was very fortunate to find this Dp for my card that had all the right colours in it.

Paper...white cardstock, matted DP, a piece I had, so don't know the name.
Image is from Tiddly Inks...our sponsor for the month. Coloured the hearts with distress inks and aquarelle pencils, and added glossy accents to the larger ones. Matted onto green and pink card.
Sentiment..also from Tiddly Inks, cut with a Nellie Snellen die and mounted onto a plain oval in pink.
Pearls around the sentiment and in the corner to finish and added a bow.
Was a very simple and easy one to make.

I would love for you to have a look at the fabulous projects of the other DT members. and hope to see one of yours entered in the challenge.

Warm wishes and have a great week. Hope all your preparations are coming along nicely.

I have been published!!!!

Happy Friday blogging friends and a special welcome to my new friends. Great to have you here, hope you will visit often.
Indeed a happy day here in South Africa as today is a public holiday...Reconciliation Day....so a long weekend for many and also the start of the major holiday season. Factories have closed, schools are closed and many industries are shut for the holidays, so a mass exodus of people over the next few days to the coastal resorts and various inland holiday places.  Our area becomes a pleasure to be in, less traffic, and more relaxed time.
Also a happy day as I have received a copy of the pages in Papercraft Inspirations...a magazine from the UK, in which I have had a card published. I got a call several weeks ago asking if I would give permission for my card to be featured on their "Beautiful Blog" page....so what do you think I said...YES!!!! The magazine has been posted to subscribers and goes on sale next week in the UK.
This is the card I made for a challenge in November at DS4J, using one of their images.

Full details of the card can be found Here Thanks for stopping by and I do appreciate your lovely comments.  By the way only 5 sleeps before our holiday...can't wait....but so much to do still.
Take care and have a great weekend.

Colour challenge at The Outlawz

Good evening friends,
Yes it is still Tuesday...only a few hours left of it here in SA....so if it is Tuesday that  means one thing
Colour challenge at The Outlawz. This was the pallette we were given to work with

and here is my card for this weeks challenge:

Paper...White cardstock, blue DP..from a pad by Wilson & Maclaglin. Cut shapes with a Nestability, added glitter, pearls, ribbon,
Mounted all this onto 2 die cuts with a Nellie Snellen die.
Sentiment from a set by Docrafts.
This idea came from a card that I saw on this site    Amazing Paper Grace Becca has some of the most amazing cards and mine is not a patch on hers. I just love her inspiration.

I would be great if you visited The Outlawz and had a look at the lovely cards made by the other members of the DT. There are some lovely prizes to be won as well so hope to see some of your creations there.
Hope you all enjoy the rest of the week and take care.

Looking through the window

Good morning friends and a happy Tuesday to you all,
Onbly 8 more sleeps till we leave on our holiday, but need to get 16 more days of work done....that's what it feel like.LOL....
As promised last week here is another of the cards made during the class I attended. It is actually a very easy and simple card to put together.
Started off with stamping the flowers using small tapestry stamps onto cream cardstock and inking all the edges.
I used a Marianne Design die for my window. It is actually a lantern die and I cut the top piece of to make it into a window. Put a sheet of acetate behind this.
The Christmas tree is from a Cuttlebug die, decorated with some bling, cut a curtain and stamped that as well.
The window was then mounted on 3D foam pads, and all was done.
I love this Marainne die, and would like to make some more windows, with different images.
Thanks for popping in and have a wonderful week. Mine is very busy as we are also having to visit with many friends and family  before we leave.
Take care, have fun and see you soon.

A good read.....

Good evening friends
It certainly is a good one here. A really lovely summer's evening after a hot and steamy day......but still no rain. Our weather forecasters are predicting showers that don't seem to be falling anywhere near us.

I would like to welcome some new friends here at my Crafting Corner. It is always good to see new faces and I hope you will pop in often.

I have no card this time but a book mark which I made for the Progressive Freebie Challenge over at CDAC. The image I have used is from Just some lines ..

DP..I got  some in a swap sometime back and only had a little piece left...just enough !
Image..Just some lines...coloured with distress inkpads

These bookmarks are so easy to make, and my blogging friend  Sharon makes them slightly differently, but I got the idea of the ribbon tag from her. You might want to pop over and see the lovely creations she has. I was lucky to win one of hers.

That's all from me for today will have some more tomorrow. I have fininshed some lovely cards that I made in a class, so please come back and visit.

Being Tuesday it is time for the Colour challenge over at The Outlawz, and this is my last card as Guest Designer for November. It has been fun and challenging.....BUT....the GOOD news is I have been invited to stay on and join the Design Team of The Outlawz.  What a surprise that was and I am still feeling like a new kid at school with all the graduates. Finished off with 3 little buttons.
I left the sentiment off, and will add something inside when I know who the recipient will be..

Be thankful

Good evening fellow bloggers,
Firstly I would like to say Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends. I hope you have a wonderful time celebrating and having fun with family and friends. Here in South Africa we don't celebrate Thanksgiving, but I do think it would be the right thing to do, just to take a few minutes and think of all that we have to be thankful for.  I for one have a wonderful family that means so much to me, and I am also very thankful for the friends that I have made all over the world, through this great hobby of cardmaking and paper crafting. So to each and every one wherever you may be ...Thank you, may you all be richly blessed.
My card today was my entry this week as GD at
The Outlawz...colour challenge. We were given this colour pallete and the twist was ..must have a  pumpkin..paper/stamp/

I seemed to be very wanting on this theme, but found that I did have something to use.

Here's what I used.

Cream cardstock, matted orange and brown card. Put a piece of cream through the cuttlebug with pumpkin folder. Coloured them slightly with distress inks, just to add a bit of colour.
The sentiment was a freebie and I don't have a name for the artist. It actually had an acorn on the centre, that I was able to remove and added the pumpkins instead....Barry pumpkins..is all I have on this one.
Hope you all have a wonderful week further and a lovely holiday weekend for those lucky enough to have one. We have had some lovely rains over the last few days, very heavy at times,..at least the garden is smiling.
Take care and see you soon.

Post-it easel

Good eveing friends,
It's been a little busy around here. Had a class today, and also the end of year with markets and everyone wanting their glazing done for markets, gifts etc., so very busy and the kilns firing constantly,....working late, and up early......but only 4 weeks to go and then we will be off on our holiday.

This is one of the cards that we did at class today. This was definitely the more popular one. Please forgive the photo we had very dark skies with rain and a bit of hail, but needed to try and get this post up as tomorrow is a bit of a hectic day.

I had made a second sample, but everyone chose for the calendar option.

Paper ....Papermania...capsule collection
Marianne design dies for the flower, swirl and tag. Covered the post it notes with a small tag and a stamped sentiment.
I found the design on the Stampartic blog here.
That's all for now, will try and be back soon. Take care and have a good week further.

Frieda goes to town

Good evening blogging friends.
I have had a busy day with classes, so only posting my GDT card now for the OutlawzTuesday colour challenge. These were the colours we had to work with, and the  twist was add flowers.

For my card I used a digi image from Anne's cards4U Anne has some lovely froggy digital images which are free.
I coloured her with copics and then cut it out, mounted on the lilypad with foam pads. The rest of the picture I coloured with distress inks, and cut that out with a Nestibility, which I mounted over a Marianne die.
Paper: greeen cardstock and a spotted purple which was a piece, punched the corners.

This card is my first and also the last for this challenge, as I will only just make it again. Had hoped to do more, but all kinds of things got in the way.

Design papers from Wilson & Maclagan.
Sentiment...a no name stamp and finished with a bow.

Today being 11/11 we remember all those that have offered up their lives through the years.
It is another scorcher of a day here in this part of South Africa. Temps of 30 plus deg. for the 3rd day and the forecast is for more of the same for the weekend....and not a drop of rain in sight. Would love to be able to share some of our heat with those that need it...LOL
My card today was one I made for a class I taught last week.I did find the idea somewhere, just lost the link, but will look for it and add it in here.

I found the link:   Stamp Owl's Studio The link to the card doesn't seem to work, so this is the link to the blog and the post for this tutorial is 8 April

CDAC progressive challenge 5

Good morning friends,
What a day yesterday was. Started of cloudy, with a prediction of heavy rains. Got darker, the sun came out, got grey, the sun came out...no rain....THEN at about 3pm some thunder and hail, but very small stones and only a minute or two...so not really much water had fallen.....BUT about an hour later, it got dark and then.....hailstones like small eggs came pounding down.....waited for the windows to go, but thankfully they stayed whole. Our garden now has a green carpet everywhere and all the trees have been considerably "thinned out". Not sure how much fruit is left on the trees.  Well that's nature for you....... Hope no more of that for now. Right now, beautiful blue skies.
On to my card for today. This is the first of the cards for the progressive challenge over at CDAC, where we are given 5 images to create with. The last challenge I snuck in at the death and only managed to upload one card before cutoff, so this week I intend to be a little earlier.

The added challenge was to use colours from the cool side of the colour wheel, so this is what I have done.
Paper....Pieces from my stash...I think the navy is Papermania...not too sure.
Image: from SSBS Design coloured with Distress inkpads, mounted onto a doily cut from a Marianne design die.
Sentiment computer generated, finished off with some brads and a gingerbread man button.
Busy with some more of the images for this challenge, hope to get them done this weekend, but first have a garden to tidy up.
Take care, have fun and see you soon.

Anniversary wishes

Hello blogging friends on this glorious Sunday here in my part of the world.
Watched the rugby this morning and my 2nd team (NZ All Blacks) are through to the final next week, so that was a good start.
My card today was made for a couple celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. It is quite a simple card, based on one I saw some time back in blogland. Made a sketch at the time, but didn't make a note of the blog.

Used a white shimmer cardstock and punched the edges with fancy edge punch. Put a piece of the paper through the cuttlebug with the swiss dots folder for the centre triangle.
Sentiment ...Whiff of Joy punched out with a nestie and a peel-off 40.
Flourishes and flowers are cut with a Marianne design die, using the same shimmer paper and just coloured with distress ink pads.
A few pearls to finish

In my rush to get the photo before delivering the card, I forgot to show the inside, but never mind. The couple loved it.

Have a wonderful Sunday and enjoy the week ahead. Take care and have fun

More Halloween for CDAC progressive challenge.

Hello!.... I said I would be back soon.
As promised here is my second card for the CDAC progressive challenge. Another Halloween card. As I said in my previous post in South Africa we don't really celelbrate Halloween, but I think it is fun and my 2 cards will be wending heir way across the waters on Monday to some friends.
For this card I chose the image from Sew Many Cards.

I coloured with Distress ink pads and cut out the image which I popped onto a scolloped oval with foam pads. All of this was mounted onto the DP which is again from SherriK designs.
Sentiment.....OH MY WORD, I just realised I left it off. It was a computer generated one, which I will put on before mailing it.
Finished off with a black cat button and some brads.
That's it for now.
I do have a third image printed, not Halloween,  but not sure I am going to get it finished in time for the deadline, so it might only come up here next week.
I need to do some chores.....and the garden is calling and the lovely weather is just begging to be enjoyed.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, take care and have fun.

CDAC progressive challenge 4

Happy Saturday to all my friends.
Hope you had a good week and ready for a relaxing Saturday. Here it is just lovely sunny weather....sorry for those in the cooler regions of the world...but we are waiting for some rain.
Today I have the first of my cards for this series of the CDAC Progressive challenge, it closes today, so I am again just sneaking in. Thank goodness for the different time zones, it gives me a few extra hours.
This image is from Designs to Delight.

I coloured the image with Distress Ink pads, cut it out with a nestie, matted onto black which I then trimmed. The DP was a Halloween freebie from  SherrieK designs.
The embellishments were gifts last year in a RAK from a friend and came in very handy, as in South Africa we are not big on Halloween so all these bits and pieces are not freely available.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Craft your days away ...Halloween colours
Design2delight...Halloween
I will be back shortly with the second card for this challenge..

Happy birthday Magda

Good morning all, Yippee!! it's Friday and that means the weekend ....looks like a really good one with great weather...still no rain, but it will come soon..."I hope"
My card today was made for a friend's birthday. I will be using this design for a class in November, so tried it out. First saw it on Karen's Doodles NL challenge blog, and tried it with some small changes. It worked out well, and my friend was thrilled with it.

Here is what I used:
Paper..Papermania...Especially for you
Images...Cupcake...Country crafts, Teapot...Papermania ...Summer Bloom stamp set.
Lacy Die...Mariannes Designs, also the small tag.
Added, lace, pearls and a bow. and a teapot charm to the tag...Needed that to balance the card. It doesn't show up well on the photo.
Sentiment....computer generated.

Sorry the photo doesn't do it justice, but had to take a quick picture as I was giving it to her and realised I had"nt taken a photo.

Well that's it for now. Have a wonderful weekend and take care.

WOW. What a day!!!

Hello friends, Hope you are having a great week. The weather is just glorious and I would just love to be outside more at the moment, but I have had a lot of preparation to do for classes, so hope the weekend will be equally glorious.
Today I did a class for 10 ladies at Country Crafts in Johannesburg and it was all so exciting as we had a very special guest. Non other than Marianne from Marianne's Designs in the Netherlands. I think many of you are using her dies already. She is such a lovely lady and it was an honour to have her sitting in on the class.
This is the card that we made, with a small variation in the class. I saw the picture on Jennie's blog and really liked it, so asked if she would mind me using it. I think the original came from one of the Stampartic design team, but couldn't find it there.
This is what I used for the card and the box:
Paper: Kaisercraft...English Rose collection
I used a selection of dies from Marianne Designs, Nellie Snellen and Joy crafts to cut the hearts, flourishes and flowers using scraps of shimmer paper and various bits and pieces.
Finished off with some seam binding on the front and a few pearls.
When once I had worked out the idea it was actually easy to put together.
I also  made a box for it to go into. This is just a basic "pizza" style box, that is also so easy to put together.
Altogether the ladies loved it.

I am entering this in some challenges as well:
Top Tip Tuesday.... Use DP and handmade flowers

Hope you all have a good week, have fun and  enjoy what you are doing. Will be back soon.
