CAS challenge on new DT

Hello friends,
I am very excited to be invited to join the DT on  Let's Craft and Create. I must admit when I heard that my first challenge was CAS, I almost did an about turn. You must understand CAS is not my strong point. I don't think I have entered more than a handful of CAS challenges, as I always feel so 'intimidated' by that empty card. Well I had committed and had no choice, so this is what I came up with. When once I had sort of decided what to do it went quite quickly, but then......I had to stop and not add more  and more.

I embossed the bottom half of the card with a CB folder, and embossed the design with white embossing powder,
Stamped the sentiment onto a label
A ribbon with pearls to finish

Well this was my first card for this challenge, and I will be quite honest in saying I am looking forward to the next challenge. The other members of the DT have made some lovely cards, so please go and have a look and leave them some love.

I will enter this into the following challenges:
Make it Monday...Anything goes
Bunny Zoe's Crafts challenge...October challenge...Ribbon
Created with Love challenge #64...Anything goes
The Paper Nest Dolls challenge #16...Anything goes

Addicted to Stamps and More...Clean and Simple
Lady Anne's Stamp challenge #12, must stamp anything goes

Colours of Halloween

Good afternoon friends,
Tuesday is here again and that means a new colour challenge at The Outlawz. Our colour palette and twist were chosen by Penny and the DT have made gorgeous cards with this theme. Please hop on over and have a peep, then I am sure you will be entering this challenge with your creations.

The sponsor for this month has been  Anji's Antics.

Halloween is not really celebrated in South Africa. There are a few  places the have a special function, but not the general public. I do not have much in the way of Halloween stash, but came up with this card.

I got the idea for the background from a card I saw somewhere on the internet, but didn't take not of the crafter, so can't  give  credit.

I coloured the background with Pan Pastels. I love them but need to get some more experience.

The tree and birds are Marianne Design dies.
The fence and cat are Memory box.

Very simple and easy to make, hope it qualifies as a Halloween card.

I will enter the following challenges:
Country View challenges...Something Spooky
Crafter's Café challenge #34...Spookable
Ladybug Crafts...Halloween/use your  diecuts
Kaboodledoodles challenge  #195...Halloween/Anything goes
Love to Create #89...Halloween
Make it Monday...Anything goes
Challenges 4 Everybody #32...Anything goes
Dream Valley challenges #68...Halloween
Robyn's Fetish challenge #183...Halloween
Chalk n Stock challenge...October challenge, Anything goes with chalk

Enjoy the rest of the day wherever you may be. Hope the storms in The Netherlands and the UK, didn't do any damage where you are. Take care and I will see you back here tomorrow.

Good morning everyone,
It is a beautiful Sunday morning...lovely and fresh after some good rains the last week, gorgeous blue sky and bright sunshine....what more could one wish for...

Today is again new release day at Digistamps4Joy and there are gorgeous images. You can see the cards made by the DT for inspiration HERE

For my card I used Misteri Faerie. I had something in my mind, but when I actually got it done, there seemed to have been a miscommunication between brain and hands...not sure if that every happens to you...and then my camera decided it didn't quite like the colours I used and changed them somewhat.. LOL. so  I had to just go with it.

Here is what I used:

Misteri Faerie, coloured with Distress inkpads, added glitter for the wings and the star, also some glitter on her ribbons., and small flowers in her hair, cut with an Nellie Snellen MFD

Paper - Kaiserkraft
Corner cut with a JoyCraft die
Sentiment ...stickers from KaiserKraft paper
Finished with a few pearls.

Embossing....Midway challenge #78 Digistamps4Joy

Happy Wednesday blogging friends.
Time is sure marching on, not much of October left either, and we are again half way through the current challenge at Digistmps4Joy. This week we are challenged to do embossing on our cards, either wet or dry...with embossing powder or a folder, whichever you prefer. I actually used both of these techniques on my card.

Image...Misteri - Santa's Secret, and you can find it HERE.
Coloured with Distress inkpads, added flower soft on the hat and dress. Did some paper piecing for the present. Raised the image with silicone..

Background used an embossing folder and coloured the embossing with Pan Pastels, added some Pontura pearl maker for the berries, with glittery stars.

Sentiment...Just Rite stamp and embossed with gold cut out with a bauble die.

Yay! another Christmas card made, not getting anywhere very fast with these.

Will be entering some challenges later.

A GD spot featuring creatures

Hello my friends,
I am back with another card, this time it was made for challenge #66 at Use it Tuesday. The theme is 'creatures.' and  for their challenges at Use it Tuesday you have to use your hoarded items, well don't we all have plenty of that.
I was invited to be a guest designer this week and this is the card I made for it.

This  image is called 'caterpillar bridge' from DS4J and you can find it  HERE. I think it is such a cutie,
I coloured it with distress ink pads and a touch of Twinkling H2O's, with glossy accents on the eyes.

Paper was from KaiserKraft, matted onto green linen cardstock
.
Sentiment.. computer generated and mated onto an X-cut balloon.

MY hoarded items are:
the green mesh behind the image. I have plenty of that, as I received some with a plant gift being wrapped in it, and being a neon green, I don't use it often. Unfortunately it doesn't show up so well on the photo
Paper flowers. I can start a shop with these, and since I started making my own with punches and die cuts, I also don't use these that often.

I hope you will come and join in this week's challenge, such a fun one and if you head  on over to the challenge blog, you will see the lovely cards by the DT for your inspiration.

I will be back to enter this in some challenges.

Tuesday is here again and another lovely colour challenge at The Outlawz. This week the inspirational photo and colour palette was chosen by Lindsay with the twist to make it vintage.

you will be able to see how each member has interpreted the challenge.

We would love it if you joined in and showed us your card.

For my card I used the following:

Image..coloured with distress inkpads and cut  out, then mounted with foam pads onto a cream  diecut...A Nestability die.

Paper is from my stash, I think it is a KaiserCraft paper.

The fancy diecut is a Marianne design die, that I have had for a while. Cut it using a vintage paper.
The corner is a LeaBilities die.

Finished off with lace, ribbon and pearls.

Good morning friends,

It is a beautiful Sunday, not sunny, but raining...we had quite a storm yesterday afternoon with some hail...not too serious, but then it rained most of the night, lovely soft rain...I am sure I can actually see the grass growing.. This is my card made with the image Mila - dance recital

I coloured the image with my usual distress inkpads, added a little glitter to her dress and headband, gave her dancing shoes and stockings  a pearly finish.

Celebrating a beautiful life

Hello my  friends.
Some of my regular followers may remember last year I posted about my MIL who had turned 100, and again in July this year we celebrated her 101st birthday, which was a real achievement, and she was still relatively healthy, just suffering from dementia, and feeling very tired at times.

On Saturday at 21.45, she left us, but not without thanking the staff who were looking after her in the frail care.

Today we had a beautiful funeral mass with family and friends, celebrating her life, but nevertheless mourning a very special lady who will be missed very much by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren here in South Africa and also in The Netherlands and New Zealand. We are thankful for the many years that we enjoyed with her...may she RIP.

I will be back tomorrow on a happier note. Take care,
love Ursula

What a busy time the last few weeks have been, and it just seems 'normal' I was reminded by hubby that in 10 weeks from now we will be far away on our holiday with our son and family in New Zealand...kind of scarey...well lots to do before that so I had better get myself into action mode.

Finished off with twine round the image,..also recycled from a gift I received.
