Colour challenge at The Outlawz..no card

Hi I am back,
I am a little late with this post, but had a small problem, so am only getting to post this now.

I am the lucky one to host The colour challenge at The Outlawz this week and I am asking everyone to make anything but a card. This is the colour photo and palette that I have chosen.
The DT have really made some awesome project using these colours, so I do hope you will come and see what they have for your inspiration.

The sponsor  this week is stillStitchy Bear Stamps.

For my card I have chosen the image "whisper of tulips" and you can find it
HERE

I decided to make a calendar page for my project.

As my hubby is Dutch and tulips are the national flower of The Netherlands, and his birthday is in September which is also spring in this country, I thought this the perfect thing.

The background is a photo that I took when we were in The Netherlands 3 years ago. We were too late to see the masses of flower fields, but still found a few late blooming ones  and I had this photo of the yellow tulips...so lucky.

I coloured them with my usual Distress inks.

Will enter this into some challenges:

Good morning friends,

Being retired, doesn't seem to give me any more time, but I am not complaining.  This week our two eldest grandchildren from The Netherlands are arriving to spend some time with us before their parents arrive on the 1st August, so I guess I won't be on here much the coming week either.

Now on to business. Today there is a new challenge at http://creativecraftcottage.blogspot.com/>Creative Craft Cottage

It's Christmas at The Outlawz.

Good morning and a happy Tuesday to all my blogging friends,

I am so happy that it is only at The Outlawz colour challenge that it is Christmas. I would so not be ready for it now, but it isn't Christmas yet and I do have a card to show you.

This week it is the turn of my teamie Laurian to choose the photo and colour palette and the theme is 'Make it Christmas'. Laurian has gone for non traditional colours for her challenge.

Once again the sponsor is Stitchy Bear Stamps and the DT have all used one of their Christmas images, so please go and have a look at the gorgeous cards they have made.

This is my card using the image Doodledeer.

I saw a card similar to this on the Crealies site made by Wilma and I decided to use this for inspiration.

I coloured the background with Pan Pastels. Used stencils to create some features.  Stamped snowflakes with white chalk, Embossed some others with white embossing powder Added peeloff corners and stars

The ornaments are cut with Spellbinder ornaments and printed the image onto them. The sentiment was also stamped onto two ornaments that were cut from metallic papers.

Added 3 Christmas embellishments on the front. A snowman, holly with berries and a snowflake. I have had these for so long and thought they would be perfect to hold the ornaments in place.

It was a little difficult to get a good photo and the metallic papers don't really show up as well as they do on the card.

I will enter some challenges with this card.

Still lovely and sunny, but oh boy..the wind has a real bite to it. We shouldn't complain, the winter has been very mild and by Tuesday we will be back to 20 deg. C.

I used a deep lavender cardstock and matted striped and gingham paper from a Vintage paper block.

Finished off with a sentiment and a double bow in purple and green.

Good morning friends,
I do hope you had a lovely weekend, whether celebrating in the USA, just enjoying lovely summer weather or even some crispy days in the winter area.

It is Tuesday again and that means another Colour challenge at The Outlawz. This week my teamie Heather has chosen this beautiful photo for us to use as inspiration. There are so many lovely colours and ideas to use for this week.

The sponsor for our challenges this month is Stitchy Bear Stamps and the DT have each used one of their images to make some beautiful cards. I do hope you will pop in and view these lovely creations.

For my card I have used the image Fun in the Sun, as this beautiful photo makes me think of holiday, relaxing and having fun.

I used the following:

Paper: Coloured the card with Distress inks for a background. Then cut  patterned paper with a Marianne die and cut the image with a die from the same set.

The image was coloured with Distress inkapds, added glossy accents for the sunglasses.

Butterflies and birds

Happy Sunday morning friends,
I hope all my American blogging friends had a lovely day yesterday and that you had a good celebration with family and friends.

Today there is a new challenge at Let's Craft and Create. The theme this month is Butterflies or birds and as I love butterflies, I so enjoyed making my card. The DT have some beautiful projects to show, so please go over and leave them some love.

I had fun making this card. I started off with a stencil from Dutch Doobadoo and using texture paste created the honeycomb  effect. then stamped the image, and when all was dry, used Pan Pastels to create the colour all over.

The 3 butterflies were lazercuts also from Dutch Doobadoo which I coloured and touched with some glitter. Adhered them and added pearls.

The sentiment was a freebie from a magazine. Stamped it and then went over it with Pan Pastels.

Finished off with ribbon and a  birdcage charm
