Another Christmas card

Happy Saturday friends,
I am getting in another Christmas card with a few hours to spare at the The 12 months of Christmas challenge

I nice easy card not using any patterned paper.

The embossing folder is from 'Çrafts-Too' and I added some colour to it with a touch of glitter on the stars and pearl maker to the berries.

Santa is a Papermania stamp. I got this set a few years back and I must say at first didn't think I would use it much, but there are a number of stamps with sentiments as well and I have had great use of the various images.
I coloured it with Distress inkpads and added flower soft for the beard and trimmings.
The buttons are gold Pontura pearl maker.

The little tag is from a die set.

Pumpkin time at The Outlawz

Hello friends,
Tuesday has arrived again....too quickly and as this is the last Tuesday of October, it has definitely come too soon.

So this week at The Outlawz  my teamie Susan is hosting the Colour challenge and she has given us this inspirational photo, with the twist to add a pumpkin.

Here in South Africa, we are not really into Halloween and pumpkins, so it was a little bit of a challenge, but I did come up with something.

Our sponsor for the last time this month is Nicecrane Designs and the image I used is from a Carl Larson set and you can find it HERE

The DT have made lovely cards using various images from Nicecrane, so we would love you to go and have a look at what they have done. Please come and join in the fun. You only need to use 3 colours from the palette and of course a pumpkin.

I used 3 different colours of cardstock,

The image, I coloured with Distress Inks, but not in too much detail.

The pumpkins are a digi freebie that I got a number of years ago. I coloured them and then cut them out and raised it with foam dots.

Sentiment was stamped onto a banner and attached with a brad.

3 buttons to finish off.

I will enter some challenges:

A CAS card

Hello friends,
I just realised that this card that I made for an anniversary was never shown here, so let me do that now.

I saw something similar on Pinterest and rather liked it. I don't usually do CAS cards, but this one just fell into place.

I used red card and matted a piece that I had put through the CB. I actually used a stencil and then lightly went over certain areas with distress inks.

The bench is a Marianne Design die. I cut the heart out of the backrest and then inlaid a red heart.

The little birdies are Memeory box dies.

A peel off for the sentiment.

Will enter it in some challenges:

Crafty Creations #300...Don't be blue
Inspiration Destination #56...Anything goes
The Sisterhood of Crafters Die-lirous and punchy
Wonderful Wednesday ...Anything goes
Craft your Passion #284...Anything goes

Ok, that's all I have for you today. Have a wonderful day and hope to see you soon. Take care.

A Christmas card for a change.

Good morning friends,
Firstly a big welcome to my newest followers..Lori, Susan and Christina. Lovely to have you join my little group of friends and hope you will pop in from time to time. Love having visitors...sorry I don't always have tea and cake, but hope there is something else to make your visit worthwhile.

Onto today's challenge at Creative Craft Cottage. This fortnight we have another popular 'Ánything goes' challenge and our sponsor is The Cutting Cafe.
The DT have all used one of their cutting files for their cards. The great thing with their cutting files is that you can use then even without an electronic cutting machine....that is really great.

For my card I decided to go with a side step card and I made a Christmas card.

The paper is all from my stash,

Image was a freebie from Crafty Sentiments Designs a little while back and it is called 'Dressing the Christmas tree'.
Coloured it with Distress inkpads and added lots of glitter to the tree

I then cut some squares and made a pile of gifts with ribbon bows.

The sentiment is from a Papermania set
.

Looking through the window at The Outlawz

Hello friends, I hope you are well.

Tuesday again and so onto the Colour challenge at The Outlawz.
This week it is the turn of Heather to provide us with the Inspiration for the challenge. This is the picture she has chosen. You can use anything that inspires you from this photo...maybe the colour, or particular plants, whatever  it is you need to tell us..as that is the twist.

When I first saw it, I imagined standing in front of a window gazing out at this spectacular scene of colour, and that is what I tried to do in my card.

We are still sponsored by Nicecrane this week, and I have chosen to use one of the preprinted images from Hendersons Giant Flowers 2, and you can find it HERE

The DT have all used a Nicecrane image, and I invite you to go and see what amazing projects they have created.

I decided to make a centre step card.
I couldn't even try to use the colours, so I created a window with some colour behind it, where I glued the picture.

I stamped a brick wall design on the whole card, with Distress inkpads.

The window is a diecut from Marianne design,
For the leaves on the side I  also used a Marianne Design Die.

The sentiment I found in a book.

It is actually quite a simple card and didn't take that long to make....thanks to no colouring of an image.

I am entering the following challenges:
Crafting from the Heart #82...Anything goes
Crafting your Passion #284...Anything goes
Love to Scrap #64...Anything goes
Not Just Cards #25...Anything goes
The Sisterhood of Crafters Die-lirious and punchy

Word Art Wednesday #205...Anything goes
Through the Craftroom Door ...Anything goes
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends...Anything goes
We Love to Create...Anything goes

Have a fantastic week everyone, will see back tomorrow with another DT card. Till then take care, but have fun.

New releases at DS4J

Good morning on this beautiful Sunday,

It is new release time at Digistamps4Joy and there are great new images again today, one of them being Picket fence. This is the one I decided to use and thought it would go quite nicely with the Birdhouse which you can find  HERE.

I haven't been feeling very well this past week, so tried to keep it simple.

The Paper is from an old paper pad

I coloured the images with Distress inkpads, and put in some clouds for a background.

The tree is a Marianne Design die and the little birds are Memory Box dies.

I used peel-offs for the 'Welcome'

I do hope you will pop over to the challenge blog and see the lovely creations that the DT have made with the new images.

I will enter some challenges:

Playing tic-tac-toe at The Outlawz

Good morning friends on another Tuesday morning,

It feels like yesterday that I posted the last colour challenge and here I am again with another one. This week  the colour challenge at The Outlawz is inviting you to play tic-tac-toe. It was my turn to choose the theme and colours and this is what I decided on.

It really is quite simple..just choose a row, down, across or diagonal, and if there is a word in your row, then you need to add that item as your twist. You are welcome to add any other embellishments as well. Just tell us which row you are using.

I decided to use the diagonal row top left to bottom right, and the twist is to add ribbon.

We are sponsored by Nicecrane Designs for this month, and the DT have used images from different sets. Do come and have a look at the lovely projects.

For my card I have used an image from The Flower Children set and you can find it HERE.

I used yellow cardstock and matted a blue flowery paper onto that. Then cut out and embossed another piece of yellow and onto that I mounted the image with foam pads.

The image was coloured with Distress inkpads and cut out with an oval die. I rather like this little flower child.

The ribbon is my twist and added a bow, also some pearls.

The sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp.

Anniversary card

Happy Saturday friends,
I do hope your weekend is going well. We are still having this incredibly hot weather. It has now been a week of 32 - 34 deg. C, with no letting up and still no rain.

No DT card this time, just one I made for fun.
Last week I needed an anniversary card for one of our neighbours who love cats, so I though this was quite appropriate.

The paper is from a pad of Marianne Design...Noir & Blanc.
The heart diecut is a Nellie Snellen die, and I used a shimmer paper.
The cats are a Marianne Design die.
Stamped the sentiment, and added ribbon and some pearls.

Will enter some challenges:

Enjoy your weekend and see you soon.

The Outlawz colour challenge

Happy Tuesday everyone,
I do hope you are all having a good week. We are in the throws of a heat wave and it is only spring...not sure what summer will be like.

Today we have a new colour challenge at The Outlawz. Laurian has chosen this lovely photo for inspiration, and the colour palette is partly your choice. You have to use red and the other 2 colours to be taken from the photo. The twist is also for you to decide, just let us know what you have chosen.

Being the first challenge of October we have a new sponsor for the month. Nice Crane Designs have given the DT some images and colour sheets to play with.

For my card this week I have chosen to use a picture from Henderson's Giant Flowers #2. You can find it HERE

For my card I used yellow and green together with the red and the twist is to make a 3 D picture.

I used yellow cardstock and cut a shape using a Marianne Design die. Matted it to the red card.

The picture was printed 3 times and I cut out 2 of the tulips and some leaves and layered them using silicone.

The ribbon is green and added a bow, together with green pearls.

A little tag with a sentiment completed it all.

Will enter it in the following challenges:

Up in a hot air balloon

Good morning friends,
The Cutting CafeNo I am not going anywhere and not in a hot air balloon, but the new challenge at Let's Craft and Create this month has  us making some hot air balloons.

The challenge is to use ribbon or twine and the sponsor this month is The Cutting Cafe. The DT have been given a hot air balloon file to work with and you can find it HERE. It is quite easy even without any cutting machines and there are a number of options with sentiments and it all comes in the file that you download.

If you have a look at the challenge site, the DT have made really lovely projects using this cutting file. Lots of inspiration.

I decided to keep it quite plain as I want to give it to a young man who will be starting a new chapter in his life soon.

I cut the card from dark blue cardstock and then cut the sections out of a sheet of Marianne design paper.

The basket was a piece of netting from mosaic tiles, and then I added twine.

The sentiment is from the file and I printed it, cut it out, added a button and attached it with some twine.

I will enter the following challenges.

October Progressive challenge at The Outlawz

Hello Friends on this first day of October.
I can't believe that we are this close to the end of 2015.

Today starts a new Progressive challenge at The Outlawz. The sponsor for this one is Gerda Steiner Designs, and if you didn't join in the previous challenge and would like to continue you can buy this image HERE. If however you would like to join in with this challenge for the first time, then you need to go  HERE, Join the challenge and send an email as directed on the site. You will receive the image and need to complete it before the end of October to receive the next image.  As simple as that, so I hope you would come and join for some fun.

I have used a gingham paper and onto that matted a piece of polka dot paper.

The image 'big load is coloured with Distress inkpads and cut out with a Nellie Snellen MFD. I cut a border as well with this set of dies.
I made a little banner and stencilled 'thanks'. In South Africa, we don't celebrate Thanksgiving and it isn't harvest time now, but as I do love pumpkin I would certainly thank anyone that brought me some....maybe not a whole cartload full..LOL
